should thier be loud tickign from the valves.. i recently installed a cam on saturday and in the mornings and when the truck is cold and i start it up it makes a ticking sounds 4rm the valves... is this normal? or should i start usinig a thickier motor oil because right now im using 5w-30 synthetic.. or any suggestions/

jump to 10W30 and since you have aftermarket springs they will be louder

You don't need to change oil weight.

My ticking lets me know my engine is still running. If people hassle you, tell them your solid lifter 3/4 cam is suppose to do that.

Did you use stock length (7.400") pushrods? Maybe your new cam has a smaller base circle and you need longer pushrods to make the hydraulic lifters work right. Pushrods that are too short will also reduce valve lift and duration - which will cut your performance some.

mine as well. Just remember to let them warm up a bit before putting to many rpms to them. Hell, when it is 80 degrees at 6 o'clock in the morning, I still will let it sit idling for a least 2 minutes before I put it in drive.
