Default Thinking Cams

Not that I am going to do it anytime real soon, but its never to early to start planning your mods out. For those that knew, I used to have the 04 1500 Sierra Crew Cab, and I was running a comp XR269HR----216/220 .525/.532 114 LSA. I was running it with a 2500 converter and needed a little more stall IMO.

I am a big fan of this cam, but would like a little meaner sound. I had inquired a while back to Comp Cams about a custom grind 216/220 but on a 112 lsa with higher lift. This is what they suggested they could custom grind.

I can make a cam that is close to the XR269HR. It would have 214/220 degrees at
.050 with 559/564 lift. The grind number would be 3710/3713 HR112.

I am thinking that this would be a very nice streetable cam, require less stall, though I would at least stick with a 2600-3000 and have a nice lope to it. I had originally wanted to go much larger, was looking at the MTI C1 hammer cam, but think I would like a little better street mannered cam. I don't really drive the truck all that hard, just love the sound of a lopey cam. Besides, the truck being an ECSB, I have heard that some of the larger cams in 5.3 ECSB don't turn out as well, I'd like a bit more torque.

have you checked into the comp 220/220? basically the same as the tr220 but with more agressive lobes and higher lift. 3000 stall aughta take care of it fine.
