Default thinking about trying another cam

Right now i have a LQ4 with all the bolt-ons+2600 stall+3.73's with a 216/224 .551 on 115 LSA, hardened 7.4's, and comp 928 springs. Well the truck feels good, but i think i could go a little more radical on the cam and still not have a prob driving this everyday. i plan on keeping my stock intake mani for now, and im keeping the stock 317's on there. whats another good cam for my setup? Anyone tried the 228R from TSP? Ive searched but others have headwork wich changes things

something around 224 on the intake and exaust side or a reverse split 227/224.
you don't want to go too big to where you are out of the range of the converter.

in your case... having stock intake, stock heads, and a free flowing exhaust. those are the basic requirements to run a reverse split cam. it will give you what you are looking for in a street driven combo. "power under the curve"

I think you need to do a few things. First of all, post some idle clips and speedo clips of your truck currently so I can hear it Then next go out and look at the cams that MTI has to offer (motorsport technologies Inc). They have one that I am considering getting for my 6L build as I don't want a lopey vibrating truck but want a nice strong broad powerband. The cam you may want to consider is the MTI Stealth II. It's a 224/220 on a 116. It sounds like a "nervous" stock engine without that lope and loss of cyl pressure often associated with larger camshafts. Get the Stealth II and try it out and tell me what you think. Right now I'm on a fence as to which cam to buy. The comp 216/220, TR220 on a 114 or the MTI Stealth II

im going to the track on the 19th so ill get some times and vid of my current cam then. i want some lope so the stealth II wont be right for me my set-up right now has a little lope sound to it, just a little.

If you can give me some times of your current cam and some good idle clips and speedo shots. If I like what I see I will buy yours from you I'm just not so convinced I want anything larger than a 220-224 duration for my needs....

how about lift? do you want to keep the lift on the higher side with a reverse split or is it the same as with a traditional?
