Thanks. Grey one is easing up on 300k on the body but completely new drivetrain. Red one is mostly original besides the new engine.

That did take an unexpected turn. Thank you for your patronage with the purchase of the 350 from us. You have a couple of really nice clean trucks. Post up a video of the trusty SBC idling in the C10.

Now you know when you're ready for a cam for the NBS truck you can come here. This is a knowledgeable community that will shoot you straight.

It isn’t letting me upload a video for some reason, but here’s some pictures. Started right up but the vacuum advance wasn’t working on my distributor so I ordered a new one. Unfortunately the fed ex guy played foot ball with it, but summit wasn’t quick to send another and just stabbed it in and about to set timing correctly finally. As for the cam for the other truck, Iv been looking at a 228/230 112 lsa from trick flow

To upload videos I find it easiest to just upload to youtube then copy paste the link here.

On your other truck, if it's a 5.3 that 228/230 is really big. You'll be happier going smaller. Be a hair on the big side, but okay, for a 6.0 with a stall though if you also do good supporting mods as well like headers full exhaust and a better intake manifold.

It's ALWAYS best to go slightly too small on a cam than too big

A setup with a little too little cam will outperform a cam that's too big any day, in many ways. Driveability, tuneability, track times, fun, response, mpg, you name it.

You only get so much from a cam before you get into diminishing returns and all kinds of issues.

Don't buy the Trick Flow camshaft unless you want to pay more. That's an Elgin Sloppy Stage 2 camshaft in a Trick Flow box, same as the Jegs camshaft just a re-boxed Elgin E-1840-P which can be found on Amazon or e-Bay for $238. Beware of the "china" sellers selling the SS2 cam for around $125.

Yeah I’m aware of the Elgin cam, I just said that so people would be able to look it up. The Elgin cam itself does go on sale every so often for $190ish. I regret not ordering it a few months ago when it did.
