The low-end torque will be insane. Can't wait to see the numbers. Congrats on a very nice build.

LOL. I guess my cam really should be called a 'fetus' cam. My build isn't typical for this forum which is mainly street/track racers. I am pure 4X4, 33" tires, 6,000 lbs. of boat hauler and only care about torque. High rpm is a detriment because wheel spin is a negative for us dirt guys. Controllable power down low is where I'm at. I guess I will be shifting around 5K - 5.3k rpm.

The cam I am using is to gain as much torque down low, idle like stock, get decent fuel mileage and just maybe a stop light match with some kid in a ricer. I am 60 now and my days of broad sliding at 120+ mph are over. So for now, I will keep my old Tahoe looking stock with its single exhaust (3.5" Duramax diesel) and enjoy the kick in the butt.

I don't have a lot of experience with LS motor cams but the Pat G spec'd 228/238 113 +4 in my recent L92/402ci combo was lazy beyond belief down low, idled like crap with the reversion problems and didn't have enough manifold vacuum to brake well. Sure it went like a bat out of hell above 5K but I don't go there often except gettin' up on the freeway.

Really interested to see what kind of mileage you get out of this thing. Some of us still use our trucks as truks around here

You've done a hell of a job with this build. Hats off for working outside the box.

I'm surprised to see you're still running vacuum assisted brakes.

I swapped to hydroboost with this new motor. Huge difference!

Well it should be a torque monster and fit what you are looking for, awesome work. How much boost do you plan to run?

Well heck. Had it on the dyno this morning but fuel pressure dropped to dangerous levels at boost creating a lean condition. It seems my Walbro 255 lph pump isn't enough to keep this thing fed with go juice. So now dual pumps are the next step. mad.gif

I wish Squash would release their pumps for sale.
