Default Stock LT4 cam in L31

Anyone use the stock LT4 in an L31 truck. My truck weighs around 4000 lbs and the intake runners are 8" in length, the LT1 intakes are 4 " in length.

:T4 cam specs are roughly .480/.480 203/210 112 with 1.6:1 rockers.

Anyone??

thanks
peace

I think it would benificial. I'd probably do it. Actually I'd probably do a LT4 hot cam myself buy you can get the stock lt4 cams on ebay cheap. At least you used to.

Hey thanks guys, ya booze and typing dont mix. lol

I was considering the LT4 Hotcam with its 218/228 duration and .525/,525" of lift with 1.6:1 rockers, but I am running Vortec heads and they would need modification to run that much lift, I am told that the limit is around .475".

Vortec Stroker said I might be better off getting a different cam. I am running the L35 TC from a V6 and can stall her up to 2500 rpm. Do you think that my bottom end torque would suffer with the hotcam?
My buddy runs the hotcam in a modified TPI Vortec 350 and there is a lot of low rpm torque. The TPI has 21" INTAKE RUNNERS VS. MY shorter 8" runners. I just dont want an overcammed vehicle, but I sure would like some more high rpm power. I have the Vortec Marine Intake manifold and all teh injection poppet crap is no longer inside the intake manifold. My engine breathes much better up to my rev limit of 5800 rpm. I have seen some dyno graphs of L31's and powerand torque really drop off over 4500 rpm.
thanks for the help.

Any other opinions.
Here is that intake I am running now

You would have plenty of torque with the hotcam. The 480 lift on the LT4 cam with 1.6's would be cutting it close for clearence on the valve seals. Need machine work to go over 475 and still be safe.
With a L35 converter and the hotcam you should expect a stall speed between 2800-3000rpm. Should work pretty nice. I just would not lock up the converter clutch under WOT accel.
