Default Stock 317 Valve Seals

I sent my stock 317 heads to be refreshed. I sent a set of BTR valve seals to the machinist and he said they were incorrect. Below is a pic of the stock seal he took out and the BTR ones. Can someone link me the correct seals?

Prior to 01 the separate seat/seal was used on Gen 3 engines. In 01 GM went to the 1 piece seat/seal. The BTR seals will work provided you have a set of separate spring seats. You just can't use the 1 piece seat/seal with double springs as the inner spring will hit the seat/seal. I would not be using a machinist that doesn't know this or can't figure that out. It tells me they have no experience with Gen 3 heads.

^^^exactly! The new seals go directly on the valve guide. The older one had the seals built onto the spring seats. Dual springs always come with the new seals u posted. U will need to get some stock replament seals from the parts store if u are running beehives.

You realize ls7 springs will handle MUCH LESS LIFT on a regular ls head right?
I hope you meant ls6.
Ls7 springs are made for a 1.960 installed height not 1.780.

Also tsps new dual spring kits come with a better 1 piece seat/seal for dual valve springs like stock, so you would have less issue tearing up seals or having issues. Just an FYI.
