I went down to make some work on my car some more today. It has been along time, I have been quite busy. In all this time, some stuff has wondered off, and it appears someone helped themself to some parts off my quadrajet. There are linkages missing of the carb that were there.

I am really frustrated. I am beyond tight on money right now, in fact, I am doing good to make it paycheck to paycheck with the hours I am cut down to. I have no money to spend on the car at all. I guess I am either going to have to sell the car I have wanted for years or just let the thing sit and rust. THIS SUCKS!

I guess I might have to sell my 350 4 bolt block and vortec heads, just to get my car running.

I'm sorry dude, that sux! Day to day life has to come before toy's I know, but some puke doesn't have to take your stuff from you. Keep you head up and your powder dry, I'm sure everything will work out alright. A lot of folks are feeling it right now!

Ok, the guy just called me back. The deal is definitely on. I am going down tonight to pickup a guys 02 S-10. He built a 388 stroker with only 50 miles, but can't get it to work with the factory electronics. He is trying to use the stock 4l60E, and the hood wont close. The apartment complex he is in, is going to tow it off. I am buying a stock factory 4.3L and trading him for the 388. I am getting the 4.3L for $400. He has receipts and proof of true blue printing, totally some where of $9000 but that includes a beefed rear axle, I get to keep all paper work for the motor. He is in college and in a bind, just needs everything sorted out and fixed.

So I am getting the truck, and having a friend swap them out, and taking the truck back to him. I get to keep the motor and all related parts including a MSD 6 ignition box and electric fans.

I was worried he would back out of the deal. When he found out the motor I was getting had a warranty on it through the salvage yard, he got excited. I am taking a contract I typed up with me. It might not stand up in court, but if he tries to pull anything, I have proof I did nothing wrong.

My buddy is going to swap the motors out in the malibu because he wants the motor that is in it now. I will be getting some cash to boot, but it will save him money and me some work.

Hope that deal works out smoothly, sounds like a good plan. You gotta hope that the kid gets the truck together and running smoothly so he doesn't pull any crap if things don't work right and try to blame your 4.3 or something

I hear ya on not having enough money for the project. The wife wrote checks to daycare and rent and we don't have enough in our bank account to cover it yet, aarrrgghhhh!

I have the truck now. I took lots of pictures before I left. I want proof that if anything were to be said to have happened to the truck, I can prove it.

I took my time pulling it home. The cam sound pretty tame. He said he will have to find the paper work to prove the specs on the cam.

Short clip of it running. The cam sounds really tame. He thinks it is a comp cam 268. It needs to work to get it running good.

Like the kid that had the truck, we couldn't figure out why would couldn't get the 385 stroker to run right. My buddy pulled the distributor, the cap wasn't seating all the way and it was all eaten up inside.

The engine was built by a marine shop in Nashville, and it is guaranteed to make at least 380 HP. Should be fun!
