Default Shaving heads?

I'm just bored and thinking here, what kind of hp gains could be expected from just shaving down factory 5.3 heads? Also how high can the compression ratio be and still run 87? 93?

Generally you get 10% for every full point of compression increase.

As for your question on gas vs compression limits, it really comes down to camshaft choice and how well you can tune to limit detonation.

If you mill them at all, I would run premium gas; either 91 or 93 octane depending on where you live.
