Default Cam install: wish me luck!

Tools:
-set of deep and short metric sockets (incl. 8 10 12 15)
-set of metric wrenches (incl. 8 10 12 15)
-1/2" drive breaker bar w/ 24mm socket
-torque wrench... um.. probly gonna be MIA unless its CRUCIAL?
-extensions for sockets
-driver for sockets
-harmonic balancer puller (thats the only one Ill need the puller for right?)
-screwdriver for clamps and pliars/ vice grips
-buckets for coolant AND oil
-16 pen magnets (the 2.99 ones at autozone will work correct?)
-spring compressor or spring tool (which ever autozone has)

Parts:
-Lunati 221 cam
-Lunati springs to go with the cam
-7.4 Trickflow rods
-Timing chain and sprockets
-Gaskets (intake, valve cover, crank shaft pulley bolt, (2) water pump, timing cover, and crank seal)
-Lifters (not being put in so will soon be for sale)

Anything Im missing? anything recommended? wish me luck guys.. I think I can do it and I sure pray I can get it all done with out major snags and she'll fire up 1st try. Any help or advice again would be great. Thanks everyone, wish me luck tomorrow

lemme know how it works out for ya, im about to do an install in my truck, let me know what all is in the way as far as radiator and condensor go

Your going to definatly need a torque wrench and a haynes manual, it tells you all the specific torque specifications. Also for the harmonic balancer you will need a 1/2inch breaker bar and a 1/2 strap wrench(chain is best) to hold the harmonic balancer while you unbolt it or you will just turn you engine over with out it. I bought two from napa because theres were to small in length, so i took two apart and made a long one.

really? cut the LS1tech "how to" said just the breaker bar and socket with a good rip will get it off? Ill have my mom's car here with me so if I find out Ill need it Ill go buy it. Ill be broke after this haha

torque specs..?/ just get everything gudentite that my therory..never had any problems..dont get a haynes manual anything you need to know just do a search on here or look at ls1howto.com....use an impact to get the bolt out

ONE THING YOU WILL NEED..IS A DAMN STALL CONVERTER!!!!!!..one the line youll be sayin any day now...come on you can do it..just to get to 4k

You most definately will need a torque wrench for this job! Most of the bolts on these LS engines look to be on the small sie, so the urge to overtighten them (and break them) might be hard to fight. Do whatever you need to do to buy/borrow a torque wrench.

yes a torque wrench would be needed..sorry bout my above rambling as i might have been fairly intoxicated last night
