Default seafoam in the oil?

i know that some detergents are not recommended in high mileage engines, but should it be ok to run a bottle of seafoam in the oil for a couple of minutes before the oil change to flush it out? i run 15w40 royal purple in it if that makes a difference. its a 5.3L with 100,000 miles on it. what would you guys recommend?

I wouldnt seafoam the crankcase on a higher miles motor. It could start smoking. You can run it through your gas tank so it cleans out your fuel system and combustion chamber, but I woulnd want it in the bottom end.

I'm not a fan of adding anything to the oil, especially detergents. Personally, I just stick with normal oil change intervals and good old Mobil1 synthetic (been using 10w-30). Seafoam is great for cleaning out the induction system (intake, combustion chambers, valves), but that's as far as I go with it. (well, a little bit in the gas tank is OK too IMO)

I have done this before, didnt hurt it at all. I just addded a little to the crankcase drove to the store and back and changed my oil. Dunno nothing bad happened to me and its been mad long since i did that.

I'll throw a bottle of Seafoam in the crankcase just before i change the oil every once an and a while. And to be honest, my last oil (appearance wise) lasted a lot longer. After 3000 miles it still was golden amber. I just attributed that to the Seafoam helping to get all that extra crap out.

the brake booster line feeds all the cylinders like the PCV, it will clean carbon build up throughout the innards and combustion chamber and stuff
