I'm not the greatist guy for advice with regards to truck stuff, as i'm just as guilty as the rest, but just try to keep the mods within financial reason, going broke building a project isnt fun, or sensible..so let the truck sit for awile, plan out exactly what you want to do, and do it..in the end, enjoying all this **** is the goal correct?

If this doesnt make any sence at all, i blame all the cold medication i'm on, i'm sick as hell

why dont you just come up with a goal for your truck and then figure out a cost -effective way to do it? not everything needs to be a full blown custom job

Just build a nice 6.0 with a good cam and heads. No use for tube chassis, maybe you could just box the frame and smooth it out to make it look nice. Are you wanting to show the truck or just have it as a DD that's cool?

its not gonna be a dd because im gonna insure it with hagerty and drive it on the occasion and its gonna be a tax write off for my shop

the reason im wanting to design a new frame is cause im cutting most the bed area out and doing a set of fiberglass besides and a tube 1.5dom tubing bedcage will be nice looking IMO

and the rails from the back of the cab forward will be 2x4 square dom tubing with rocker protecters from dom to add some astetics and the front will be 2x4
with 1.5 dom reinforcements and a nice custom long travel upper lower control arm set up which i can make dirt cheap compared to buying a set

Can you find a totaled vehicle to start with? If you pick something up for a few thousand $ you will be money ahead when you are finished. Especially if every part is going to be modified in the process.

nope cant buy totaleds here in tn but i can in kentucky i dont want to have a nice truck with a rebuilt/salvage title so i will probly salvage what stock stuff i can and find a WBH avalanche or tahoe hit hard in the front with real bad frame damage put a hd2500 front end on it and have something as a dd that already has a lift and some 20s with 33inch meat so i can have a really nice dd that isnt killin me on the gas but still looks nice and will have a rebuilt title instead of the show truck with tons of money in it

and im thinkin im gonna keep the ls based motor but definetely a full manual th400 and a 9inch

You can also use a manual 4l80 to retain OD.
