Default Rod Bearing Brands

Does brand and material matter much when picking out rod bearings.

I'm putting together a stock LQ4 for a friend and was wondering about the bearings. I have Clevite main bearings so I just need Rings and Rod bearings.

O'Reilly's has Sealed Power sets for $28 but Summit Racing has an SRB set for 12.95

I don't wana put junk in it

I think that Federal Mogul makes the factory stuff, Sealed Power and Clevite are good brands...never heard of SRB. 1Bear posted a bunch of cam bearing info not too long ago, and is extremely knowledgeable, if you don't get a lot of hits in this thread shoot him a PM and he won't steer you wrong .

SRB is Summit Racing Brand. I think I'll just get sealed power from O'reilly's. I don't want to dump a lot of money into the engine but I don't want to build junk. The guy buying it likely won't be upgrading it to a monster power maker. He'll be happy with a stock 6l and a cam.

I'll use Clevite in my 370 build.

Durabond makes coated cam bearings...I was interested in those until I found out that they're not as wide as the Federal Mogul/factory cam bearings...
