Default Reliability

I am wanting to have a cam and springs put in my '05 5.3. My only hold off other than not being able to get to a cam before it is sold is reliability. Should I expect any problems? Not a huge cam just something mild along with some kind of tune of course. I drive 60 miles a day back and forth to work and I pull 4-wheelers to the dunes quite often as well taking road trips. Yeah its my driver. Can I still expect good reliability? Thanks

IMO, a mild cam that doesn't require stiff, brittle valve springs should be very reliable. Check out my sig...my current setup should last a long time (even though I plan to upgrade to a 6.0...one of these days ). But, since my cam is so mild and I don't have aggressive lobes, I'm able to run LS6 springs which should be good for the "life" of the vehicle. Even the more aggressive cams seem to be OK from what I've read here. Guys are reporting 40K+ miles on Comp 918 springs without problems

When I do build my 6.0 (it's on the back burner since the birth of our baby girl 2 1/2 weeks ago ), I plan to make it mild also...I want to be able to turn the key and drive to work every day without worry.
