Default Question on cylinder honing

I am building an LQ4 for my suburban, replacing the 5.3
I have a new stock ring set and am wondering what grit hone to use. Had someone tell me the factory doesn't recommend the dealers hone at all if they freshen an engine. That sounds odd, but I am not used to these low tension rings.

Thanks in advance for the help.

320 or 400 is what I came up with searching on ls1tech. I went with 320.

I wouldn't hone it yourself unless you have the real tools. Otherwise go to a machine shop. Wouldn't hurt to get it magnafluxed anyways.
