That's the case with Toyta/Lexus also, the side with the PCV is always dirtier...
Noticeable difference between the two trucks, the one with the dino oil isn't bad, just stained, but definitely not as clean as the OP's engine...looking forward for pics of the driver's side, I'll bet it's not too far off from the passenger side in this case, maybe just a little more stained....

any engine with proper maintenance intervals should look like that. It's not the type of oil, but the correct maintenance.
Back in the day (the 80's), my Mazda used dino oil (all I could afford then) and after 150k looked just as good.

damn man that's clean. my 08 5.3 valve cover wasnt even that clean and ive ran royal purple in it since i bought it. i have 45k on the clock. looks like i need to swap oils..
the heads was clean, just not the valve cover...wth?
