should i run a 3000 stall? cause i was planning on hold off on the stall
Use the stock length pushrods and at least a 3000 stall. If you try to run the stock converter your truck is going to be a dog under 2500rpms. I think you'll have an impossible time trying to get your engine to idle in gear with the stock converter and the 224º cam.

Good luck,

Richard

Larger valves (especially the intake) will show great benefits in increased power due to the relatively large cross sections in the stock 5.3l intake ports. IMO the larger valves are a big help to 5.3l engine performance gains. Given the amount of work to remove and install the heads I think the extra $196.00 for the larger valves is justified.

if you want to keep your 7.400 pushrods and save an extra 140 (if u already have hardened pushrods) bucks or so. shim the bottom of the rockers .050 or so to help with the oil control onthe tip of the puushrod at high rpm's.
