The main one being there wasnt a 6.0 made in 98 I guess nothing at all

First year for the 6.0 was 99. Iron heads, longer crank snout in the rear, and I believe a difference in head gaskets, as of 05 the LQ4s cam with LS2/LQ9 rods and in 03 I believe it was teh LQ4 pistons were redesigned with a larger piston skirt to combat the evil piston slap. I think that about covers it.

the only 6.0 in 98, that Im aware of, was a 366 in the big topkick. the 99-2000 6.0s have a longer crank flange that mated up to the 4l80e, along with cast iron heads. The 01-06s have the short flange, and aluminum heads.

Should not have an alum intake if it is a Vortec. there are no aftermarket intakes avaiable unless you take a GMPP vortec carb intake and modify it with fuel rails. The only other system I know of completely replaces the entire computer system. Is this 5.7 in a 98 truck or is it in an older carb vehicle?
