it doesnt look real bad, I would take a small file and knock the ruff spots off, and make it square again. but as cheap as it would be to fix it, you would be better replacing it.

i vote just change it. why build a badass motor an have the risk of that wheel giving you problems? if you do change it which i think you should put it back 58x so IF you do sell it you'll get a better crowd (good call Fastrt, you was thinking) bc everyone is modding the GMT900s now

and why is that man? are you unhappy with your truck? dont get me wrong i miss my 01 ecsb and if i ever had a chance to own something as cool as Flaco's truck hey i would, but lets be real in my life ill never own something as cool as that bc i hate having debt. im almost done paying for my CC and my fiance's camaro was paid for the day i picked it up, my WT too thats why i swapped motors/tranny in it. i just cant see building a badass truck an then going cheap with a reluctor wheel. thats why i put a whole new top end in my 6.2 with new lifters/trays/oil pump/o ring/gaskets.
just saying id rather change it now to know its not going to cause a problem later. work once vs work twice

Huh? I'm confused...I thought that he had a GENIV block with a 58x wheel, why would he have to drill anything? Aren't the knock sensors that he's not using already in the side of the block?

Not a good idea on a magnetic electronic signal that the PCM uses to determine crank speed and cylinder misfires. I've seen chipped crank sensors cause tons of problems on multiple different manufacturers. Often time they won't throw a code for the crank sensor either since there still is a signal, but may throw a misfire code and send you in the wrong direction during your diagnosis. The engine is on the stand and a machine shop can swap the part for a decent price, the part is less than $25 I believe...do it once and do it right

i was explaining on gmfs.com about convertering the 58x to 24x then jumped right to this thread NOT THINKING he is running a carb so he wont need knock sensors. the only reason to drill the knock sensors is when you swapthe 58x into a 24x truck you cant use the GEN IV knock sensors bc they are 2 wire sensors vs 1 wire sensors in the 99-07 classics.
