Default Piston Squirter....

Ever sence I head the new ZR1 vette had piston squirter, I've been searching for some pictures and wanting some for the older engines....
Then I found GM-high tech had a short add for Katech. Apparently they have started making piston squirters for the gen 4's...... hmmm.... Anyone with a big HP build got any plans on using them???? I'm going to look into the "slight machine work required" and give Brian nutter a call....

They squirt oil onto the underside of the piston to provide additional cooling for the pistons.

Yep saw those trick little pieces on the LS9. Thought it might not be a bad idea.

Yea, the squirter sprays engine oil on the bottom of the pistons to remove heat.
Pretty standard on turbo diesel engines.

Integral piston squirters in the crankcase oil galleries were essential in making the LS9 live under prolonged high boost. "Our analytical tools told us early on we would be in big trouble without them," says Jim Cremonesi, DRE (design responsible engineer) for the LS9 cranktrain. "We see a significant drop in piston-dome and pin-boss temperatures. It's the best way we know to pull the heat out of the piston when making this much power."
