oil priming a ls1 motor

Yeah i know the front of the crank turns the oil pump but ive read somwhere extended cranking can collapse the lifters.. it may be because the starter dosent turn as fast as an ideling engine.. it was just something i read one time and figured i would throw it out there

Get a garden sprayer and a adaptor for the oil pressure sender hole and have at it that's how I primed mine

Just make sure the barbell restrictor is in, the correct oring on the pick-up tube is on and seated good. Then just fire it up. Went through the useless goosechase of hunting oil pressure without it running one too many times!
