oil pressure problem.. *again*

hi there guys.. i have an oil pressure problem again it just seems not enough.. i have LS7 lifters , 7.4 pushrods , 10925 melling oil pump , 0w40 mobile 1.. where have i gone wrong? the pressure at idle.. looking at the cluster gauge is at about 30 psi at idle.. and goes a bit over the middle at wide open.. no drop at all.. which is around 45-50 maybe less im guessing.. later tonight ill be meeting up with a friend who has hp tuners and wll try it out every time i solve a problem another comes up.

did you pinch the pick-up tube o-ring? was that oil pump suppose to be "high pressure" or "high volume" oil pump? did you try 5w 30 like it calls for or 10w 30 i cant recall. i run 10w 30 royal purple, im thinking of swapping to a 20w 50 bc of the rpms i see.

new truck gauges dont read as correct as older gauges. i noticed my new truck sees 20psi at idle and it had 100 miles on the motor
also get rid of meilings pump get a stocker, 0 w 20 is to thin. 10w40 or 15w40 would be better for you over in the sand box

well... i know alot of people running melling oil pumps without any problem at all logically speaking its called a high pressure oil pump so thats what is supposed to do.. i couldnt find 10w40 or 15w40.. the only ones available are 0w40 , 20w50 , 10w60.. i think i may try 20w50 soon.. but can the amount of oil in the truck change the oil pressure?

id run 20w 50 too.....
if the oil is too thin when it heats up the pump cant keep "pressure" mine is in need of a thicker/better oil. im running Mobil clean 5000 since this is a fresh top end. i have 3500ish miles on the motor so its time to put it back to royal purple. im going to try the 10w30 if i dont like it ill go 20w50

+1 on the thicker oil. Once the AFM has been removed there is no reason not to run 10w40 or 15w40. Are you seeing any signs of aeration in the oil after it has been running for a while?(air bubbles on the dip stick)

ok guys i checked it using hp tuners.. 30 at idle.. 50 at wot.. i need 10 more and ill be fine , putting an engine oil cooler will help me alot.. because oil temp is very high.. and maybe a thermostat which oil cooler do u guys recommend?
