Default No Oil Pressure!!!

Last sunday I did my cam swap, swap went well. Fired it up and I had a slight tap coming from the motor for about a minute or so and then went away.
Truck ran great till tuesday after work I jumped in and started it and noticed I had no oil pressure so I shut it off, started it quickly and same thing, got under neath and gave the pan a couple taps to see if something in the pump was sticking and same thing, no oil pressure.
that was all on the original pump so today I bought a new melling pump and o ring and installed it and same thing still, no oil pressure.
I pulled a valve cover and unplugged the coil packs and got my brother to turn it over while I checked for oil coming up the pushrods and nothing.
Any help would be great as this is my daily driver.

I was thinking pickup tube oring but you addressed that. You didn't check it with a mechanical gauge?

X2 what he said.

Your not going to see oil shooting out of the push rods. Especially at idle.

If your truly not making oil pressure and have physically verified it with a mechanical gauge then you need to inspect the pump. It's possible the bypass valve is stuck open.

I emptied a oil filter and installed it and made sure the pump was working and it filled up so I pressed the reliefe valve by the oil filter and she lives again!!!
now to swap to the new springs and try this new cam out

I would only start it for a second or 2 to see if I had pressure, doubt that would have hurt a bearing but if it did it did.
That just means that I build something better
