so your gonna pull the the 5.3 out and do a rebuild?

buy a junkyard 6.0 before rebuilding that 5.3. cheaper and more power.

X2 or buy a lower millage 5.3L stick a isky triple 12 cam in it with new
timing chain/gears
possibly an oil pump
I would replace the lifters
Ls9 gaskets
Head studs
Leave the heads alone stock 9.5 compression is great for boost

This set up ^ is proven time and time again for turbo aps, and that cam will work nicely n/a till you get around to boosting the truck.

Don't get headers if you plan to boost, b/c you will have to turn around and by special turbo manifolds/headers

You will eventually need to upgrade the fuel system to the power out put you want, but the stock fuel system is plenty for a n/a cam 5.3L

6.0 $200 used cam trailblazer converter.....this if you are on a budget
