shavings in oil
#1
hey guys long story short this weeks been hectic with the truck...the other day i started getting some nasty valvetrain noise, changed the oil and found the magnet on the drain plug bolt covered in very fine shavings. sure as **** im pretty sure one of the stock rockers dropped or was in the process of dropping a needle bearing with the excessive play. i slapped the new yella terras on and spun the filter today and found glittery and black oil after 50 miles(truck never gets black oil till about 2k). it looked brass but ive heard our bearings are aluminum coated so mabey that isnt the case? also it wasnt magnetic as well. the oil pressure is still at 40 hot psi at idle and 70-75 at WOT. also i did find a nick like something hit the back of my stock rocker arm
any help would be greatly appreciated!

After looking at things more thoroughly the shavings were actually aluminum rather than brass with unnatural light the shavings looked differently from what they normally do. I did find out though that the rocker pedestals from my oe rockers started to chip and get worn down pretty badly. I'm hoping that's where the shavings came from
