That is the one I ment not 214/220. Your cam is bad a man for a tiny cam

Personally I hate stalls for a dd, can't stand the rpms up around 2-3K trying to get to 30-40mph. Pisses me off actually haha, but for a weekend toy stick a 4000+ stall

I agree, I think with a stock stall the most low low low end tq is going to be the stock cam.

Not that it would be mine or most peoples 1st selection for a true performance cam, especially for the amount of work that goes into installing one, but GM’s 5.3L High Output Camshaft Kit (88958775), which is supposed to add 25hp according to GM's literature would be a very mild upgrade that wouldn’t upset idle quality or mileage and should still be very torque friendly. Its spec’s are as follows: Camshaft Duration @ 0.050”: 203° intake / 212° exhaust, Valve Lift (in): 0.525” intake / 0.526” exhaust, LSA 117.5°

It has spec’s that are very similar to the stock LS3 cam, which is used several of the crate 6.2’s putting out decent power. The LS3 cam as used in the crate engine is listed under part number 12603844 “450hp LSX376-B8 Crate Engine (F) Camshaft” and is a good deal less expensive than the HO cam for the 5.3L though its exact specs may not be as quite favorable to the smaller cubic inch cathedral port headed engine. Its spec’s are as follows: Camshaft Duration @ 0.050”: 204° intake / 211° exhaust, Valve Lift (in): 0.551” intake / 0.522” exhaust, LSA 117.5°

At a minimum, for me, I would most likely look towards something such as the Vinci – 280 “Street Torker” camshaft. Its specs are as follows: Camshaft Duration @ 0.050”: 212° intake / 222° exhaust, Valve Lift (in): 0.551” intake / 0.551” exhaust, LSA 115° It has a description of: Good Fuel Economy, Street Performance, Power Range 1700 to 6000, Tuning Required, Choppy Idle

Any of the above camshafts should work just fine on the stock convertor, but would still benefit from a slight stall, especially the Vinci cam, where something in the 2800rpm range should make it a blast to drive.

I have heard TSP's 224/224r cams are great with stock stalls.

I wouldn't run a 224r on a stock stall for a daily.

Why is that? Not being a douche or anything just asking for a answer.
