Default New to cam setups

I have a stock 02 Silverado 1500 z71 4x4 with only a 3 inch leveling kit and straight pipes. I知 looking at the stage 4 btr truck cam. I have been told by BTR to use stock heads with ls7 lifters and springs. Not sure on the pushrod size to use. Also, can this run with the stock converter? I知 not looking to make the truck fast, just sound really nice.

If you just want the sound and wont add a converter you can probably do better. Less duration and tighter LSA. The BTR cam is a good cam, however without a converter it will be a bit of a dog.

the bigger cams trade off some low end for top end and you need all the low end you can get, especially with a truck, and especially if it's lifted on bigger tires etc.

I understand wanting it to sound good, but with trucks chasing that sound sometimes you lose performance. A torque converter will make a major difference in performance.

I'd do the stage 1 personally, it still has a decent sound.

If you want the sound and you want it to still pull, do the cam and a converter. If you want it to sound cool and run like dick, do a bigger cam and stock converter.

Stage 1 or stage 2 cam with no converter.

Default 01' LS 5.3 ext cab stepside

I want improve the performances and sound in my 5.3! I want the low end power and I'm on a budget! I'm interested in a Cam, converter, headers, n a tune What all is needed and needs to be done and what to do after work is put in to get it ready for the street? Probably a dumb message but I wanna beef her up a tad and ns how it works w/ these computers and fuel injected 5.3 engines.
Good vibes only please and ty.
