Default Need help, Lifters crapped out after 25 miles of use.

I really some help. Right after i put the turbo in my truck a lifter went out on the #5cylinder in the intake side. So I change them all out for the ls7 lifter which seemed to be a little up grade over stock ones. The ticking went away. Then I took the truck to get SD tuned and within 20min of tunning the ticking came back. I know it has nothing to do with the tuner (posting that so comments are more based on my Problem.) The ticking that sounded just like the lifter when it went back comes on after the truck warms up some. Any help is appreciated

What length and brand push rods are you using? Valve springs? Aftermarket cam?

+1, also, have the heads been milled? Could be a pre-load problem if you have the wrong length pushrods.

Stop!!! Collaborate and listen! The plunger cup is noticably HIGHER in the LS7 lifter. I needed to run 7.350's for my setup to get my lifters to shutup. They had TOO MUCH preload. I'd shoot for no more than .025"-.050" lifter preload.

Push rods are TSP 7.4, springs are PRC duals good to .660. Cam is a comp 212 216 .524 on a 115lsa. heads are stock. I was under the impression that the 7.4 would be fine with the ls7 lifters. I am not for sure that its the #5 just sounds like with the stethoscope. I let the truck run again for another 20ish min. and no ticking. This is killing me. I am gonna go run around town in it and see what it does.

Is the oiling system to that lifter clogged?

If 2 lifters go out in the same lifter bore you could have something there. I personally wouldn't try for a 3rd.

Exactly, possibly a clogged pushrod as well?

What works for Joe blow might not work for you. You need to measure. BUT Id still check that oil flow like L7 mentioned.
