Was the cam journal in the block bored out last time it spun?? The 1and 5 cam journals are damn near .040 larger than the #3 journal, and the #2 and #4 joirnals are about .020 larger than #3.... So theoretically the #3 journal can be bored out to the same diameter as 2/4 or all taken out to same as 1/5...

Really just depends. Compare the cost of just replacing the block and having it machined to toss all your existing parts in VS. having the cam bearing bores fixed and then having to buy 5 sets of bearings to get all the ones you need (unless you can find someone to just make you a set).

I'd forget the roller bearing idea.

thanks to both .i thought only 1 and 5 was larger and other 3 where the same .block is an 05 . i have over 1000 dollars in the block .i have 2 other bare blocks 02 models (i would have to change head bolts plus honing and boring all over again) .does any body have cam bore specs or know where i can find them .conflicting info 2000-2004 long and short head bolt models vs 2005-2006 short bolt beefier rod engine
