im looking to buy a 4.8 and build it.. im wanting to go radix mp112 or tvs 1900, or 2300..

i need some advice on how i shud start this build and ill give you guys my goals/budget levels..

my goals for the truck is too see 11's

i dont have a budget right now cuz im waiting on insurance money from my last truck so i will update with my budget later on.. im just wanting to get some ideas.. im not a newbie at this stuff as i did the last minor building to my old motor.. but im looking for more with this set up, like heads, bored, stroked, basically a boosted motor build..

I don't see a reason to build the engine. If this a budget build, get you a used supercharger of your liking and put the rest your money in fuel/tuning/rear/trans upgrades.

yes this is a budget build. i was going to go with a used radix kit or tvs. im wanting a cam also, whats a good f/i cam? cuz my old motor had the Tsp 224r 112lsa. i guess what im saying is willl the nbs 4.8 be able to see 11s and be reliable without building the internals of the motor? im trying to get a solid start process on the build. thanks for the info man! im asking all the questions i can get cuz i am a newbie to F/I

post this up in the forced induction section and you will get better feedback... If you don't want to go turbo, then I would find a rcsb with a 5.3 and stick a tvs1900 on it. The 4.8's are the engine of choice for a turbo, but I think you would be better off with the extra cubes in your situation. Lingenfelter GT2-3 is a proven maggie cam. You will need springs and hardened pushrods as well. Other than that, I would leave your engine stock. This will put you around 500 at the wheels on 10psi. Spend the rest of your money on a fuel system and drivetrain because you will tear up stock stuff at that power level. You will probably also have traction issues, but this should net you a simple and reliable 11 sec build.
