Had the machine shop clean, bore and hone a 6.0 L block. They returned this mystery part. Can anybody tell us what it is and where it goes?

We're as sure as you can be when working with a machine shop. They saved the part in a little box and returned it with the block. I wasn't there to ask them what it was.

Does a stock 6.0 L have an oil restrictor? If so, where does it go?

It goes in behind the rear cover in an oil passage.

OK! We found a passage on the driver's side that it fits into. Which end goes in first? One end has an o-ring and the other doesn't. And what does this part do? Thanks for the help!

Oil passage in the back of the block on the driver's side. It divides the oil passage so the oil flows through the filter and it plugs the back of the main oil galley. It's p/n 12573460 and it sells around $5.

The o-ring goes twards the back of the block
