Default My Turbo, 4l80e, 370 build thread

Alright as some people have figured out i am turboing my big bitch cause i think I have always wanted to and because I am crazy haha so here is the rundown of what i am gonna do at the moment, most of this is concrete but some is tentative depending on parts availability and my pocket book

Motor:
Iron Block 370 (Rex Built )
Stock 317 Heads
Synergy Custom Cam
Stock Rockers with Harland Sharp Upgrade
9.0 Compression (Undecided)

Transmission:
4l80e (Maybe FLT Lvl 3)
Stock Converter

Rear End: (Not an Immediate Change)
14 Bolt Semi Floater (AxisT6 Built)
Tru-Trac
3.73's

Turbo kit:
KbRacing Manifold
eBay Intercooler
TIAL 44mm Wastegate
OBX BOV
Innovative Turbo T-72 .96AR

Tuning:
3Bar Wheatley Tune

Now here is the Big Question, i am thinking about how much boost i want to run 15-19 lbs on the 370 at the track, what would be the best compression ratio to go with on the motor

I will keep this updated as i go with pictures

Good start to a build thread, as for CR I would shoot for like 9.0-1 but if Rex is building the motor see what he thinks. What kinda boost do you plan on running on the street? Do you think a 72mm will be big enough at that boost level, I think it would be great on the street at a lower boost setting but I wonder if it will be pushing it to get the boost you plan at the track (efficiency wise) I honestly dont know, just throwing it out there.

I'm gonna run 9-11 on the street probably for the sake of my gas mileage but i am gonna have an eBoost so all bets are off but it's gonna have a 9psi spring in the wastegate.

i was thinking about that and on stock heads i shouldnt have a problem with 15 on the 72mm but i'll see what happens on the dyno haha

Something similar to mine.

BTW, the sweet spot for FI and LS1 motors is 8.9:1
