Make sure you clean the **** out of your oil pan before you take it to a welder. Put it in the dishwasher or something. Most welders won't even touch oily aluminum much less your stank *** bung hole.

I didn't really notice any consumption at all actually. It might have dropped one hole on the dipstick in the past 800 miles, but with the suspected bad turbo seals I'd be willing to bet that most of the problem lies there. Either way, what is one hole? Maybe 1/4 quart?

I think you have been one of the fastest to drop in the motor and have it running than any one on the board
then you put 1k miles on it in no time. glad this motor is doing good for you. hopefully tomorrow i get to start my break in on my 2nd rebuilt 408. but it will probably take me 4 months to put 1k miles on mine

Good luck with your motor too, I guess you get to savor yours a little more than I did. I just got impatient and wanted to be in the driver's seat again!
