ok all I bought a 6.0 that had the rods and pistons removed. The rod and main caps are in place so that is not a deal but the rods were not marked on the order they came out. I know when i did gen 1 sbc we always marked them before removal. Is this a problem or can they go in to any hole? It will be coming completly apart and checked but dont believe it will need to be over bored.
I hate to drop the cash for a stroker kit right now.
Thanks
Dave

As long as they all weigh the same there isnt a problem.
Make sure the dot drilled in the top of the piston faces the front of the engine.
New rings, rod bearings and a quick bottle brush hone would be advised.

All you have to do is make sure the chamferer side of the rod faces the counter weight on each journal. so basicly you put the chamfer facing away from the dot on the piston on rods 2,4,6 and 8 and facing towards the dot on 1,3,5, and 7.

First what style of rod are do you have? 99-04 LQ4 used a press pin. 05-up LQ4 had a floating wrist pin.
1st picture Shows Press pin rod. Flat squared side of rod always faces forward.
2nd picture shows Floating pin rod. The Larger section of connecting rod always faces forward.
The Generall installed them that way for a reason... I Dont know why, but I dont want to find out the hard way... I have heard they can be flipped but again I personally followed the factory recomendation on my engine.
As mentioned Dots on pistion always face forward.
Good luck on your rebuild!!!
