they wont make much torque but match it with a nice stall or a manual trans with big gears and she will chew.. just cause you have a 6.0 doesnt make you fast. and just cause you have a 4.8 doesnt make you slow. its all in the set up and total package. not just the engine.

werd. Find out where he lives and his phone numbers and give it to the cops.

Thats what I did when some fool tried to scam me on a cam. It was for only 120 bux so it wasnt no big deal. I can only imagine how much was paid for this iron ls1.

yep, 4.8s need some compression and a high DCR to make them decent... bumping my CR up to 10.4ish really helped. honestly i have been wanting to try a 220/220 .58x/.58x 109+4... maybe this summer i will switch it out.. I think my truck ran best with my first cam it was a 220/220 114+4, granted i did not have to shift that cam at 7k like i do with my current one...

That's in an SSS too...4.8 needs a cam to match that.
I've ran side by side with a converter, gear, and bolt on truck that ran 13.8s w/o a cam and it was in fact a 4.8l. Before I put the cam in my truck I had a 3500 converter with 3.73 gears, a mail order tune, cat back exhaust and ran 13.9@97mph at 4300lbs.

Im in the middle of a heads/intake swap myself. Results to come this weekend... we are thinking after the head swap it will need more cam, we'll see what the logs say at the track. We just did stock heads, milled .25, ported and polished, couple other little things and should be good.

To answer your question turbo4.8, I just got done doing a little intake project w/ these heads... went with the edelbrock pro flo xt, we'll see what happens this weekend if all goes well. I'll keep you all posted

Theres a reason why no one runs huge cams in a 4.8...
