Default milled head's p.r. question

All you guys with milled 706's or 862's what length push rod are you running? Im going to be having a set of 862's milled .035 and with running a TR220 cam im thinking a 7.35 rod is what's needed...am I right or thinking crazy?

In theory, you should run pushrods that are shorter by the same amount that the heads are milled to achieve the same exact preload, assuming everything else remains the same. In your case I would think 7.350 or 7.375 would work. BUT, you should measure regardless.

exactly my thought's...just checking to see what was the common length was that guy's were running. A 7.375 would give me a touch more pre-load but not anything to much but I was concerned that a 7.35 would leave some slack in there and I didnt want that but I know either would work....

Measure. I went by the general add what you took off and ended up with rocker arms hitting the retainers and breaking a retainer..

anyone with a cam with a lm7 mill their stock heads .03 or .035 wanna chime in with what they came up with as far as measurments go? I could buy another set of push rods but this will be a tear down and put back together in a day thing, dont have time to measure then order and wait for the push rods.
thanks!

Order multiple sets then return the ones you don't need. I don't think Summit charges restocking fees.
