Question Melling 10296 vs. 10295

whats the difference between them which one should i go for?? anyone has it installed??

my pressure is fine untill 6000+ i have a drop.. i guess its the lifters.. but i need an oil pump thats a bit better than stock that push the oil pressure really high but i will see some increase..

I can't remember the difference but I have the 10296 pump in mine. I've had it in two different engines and both have different oil pressures. Great pump though.

Red and Blue springs. One is a high pressure spring and other is stock pressure.
I used the high pressure spring that my builder recommended. They usually use the stock pressure spring on most stuff.

Did you ever check the pressure again after switching to 5w30?

Yeah, if they are letting too much oil to the top end, and the pan is emptying above 6000, it might be their fault

A stock pump should be OK, maybe your relief valve spring is weak.

i think putting the 10w60 before switching to the 0w40 may weak'nd the relief valve spring..does the reliefe valve spring come with the oil pump, i may be going for 10296 using the lower pressure spring.. , also LS7 lifters may fix the drop.. how many liters of oil is recommended for my engine? 6.2..

Get the standard-volume pump. It comes with two springs, one installed. Put in the high pressure spring. The high volume pump is not needed.
