Default Max 5.3 bore

What is the max you can bore a 5.3 iron block safely for street strip? Took my 5.3 out of my truck and now want to put it in my Nova for a street strip application. Was looking at either stroking it out to a 383 or just a set of good rods and pistons and NOS the heck out of it. How much can the stock cranks handle? Thanks

Stock cranks will take 900 hp no problem.. 3.9xx is as far as you can take it, imo might be a lil much unles you have a great casted block...

I should have a set of 5.3 heads available after the week is up. PM me if you're interested in buying.... in case you're in need of another set.

3.905 is the max as Mangled said but have the block sonic tested first.

Thanks for the info. Now, what is the best brand of pistons for a NOS application for this build. And H-beam or I-beam rods. Is a longer rod going to be better or stay with the stock rod length? Aftermarket heads? Thanks again for the info guys!
