im gonna be putting my engine back together pretty soon.... IM gonna be running ls7 lifters/ I'ver been reading that, these lifters require a shorter pushrod? is that right?

Im in the same boat as you. I am just going to get the pushrod checking tool to get the actual distant then add the preload and have them made. Even if some guys have used a set length it can be wrong for your motor.

the LS7s have a smaller "cup" than the LS2 or newer style lifters . . .

There's a thread on it on tech about measurements and detentions of both.

The LS7s are reportedly .050 taller than the older style lifter. I don't know when they stopped using the older style lifter though. I just did a H/C swap and I am now using 7.300 PRs. I dropped my head gasket thickness by .010 and installed the LS7s. 7.300 got me .050 preload.

what year is your truck? If its the truck in the sig, you probably have LS7s in there. Its my understanding that when GM switched, all V8s got the LS7s, but you'd have to verify that.

They have a smaller cup, shorter travel and require different preload. Stick with the CTSVs.

What's a CTSV? Are you referring to Caddy lifters?
