Default LS6 cam thoughts

Who is running the 02 and up ls6 cam in a N/A 5.3?
What kinda power and track times they are producing?
Wanting to put this in my daily driver, reason being i dont want a big or choppy cam, want something mild mannored with decent gains.

Went to my local performance shop and they said that cam is junk your wasting your time!

My 04 ecsb silvy 5.3,want a low 14 sec truck!
As of now it runs 15.1 at 93 on 20s with a 2.4 60ft
Mods are tune, magnaflow muffler,k&n cold air intake

a big stall converter will produce better than that cam.
the only reason it is prefered is cause its a great boost cam. AND the price.
It didnt make ANY power in my 4.8 till about 3500 rpm. So with no stall, it was complete crap.

they are right!
if you really want an ls6 cam go with the 01 b/c it has less duration.
also you can look into comps 206/212 or their 212/218.

I don't think the factory cams have any advance, so if that is true the 01 ls6 cam has a 116 ICL and should make power a little sooner than the 02+.

Hey, there's the answer you were looking for I thought the LS6 cam needed 7.425's due to the smaller base circle

Op honestly my comp 212/218 has a stockish idle, plus it gave me a decent gain all around.
