does anyone know what the idle will be like with an ls6 cam, its out of an 04 Z06, going in my 2000 4.8

If the tune is spot on it will idle like stock

wheatley is gonna tune it, just wondering what the idle would be like. thanks! didnt want it it be choppy or anything.

I don't think it matters if Wheatley is tuning it or not. That cam isn't terribly radical, granted you're a 4.8 not a 5.7. I was just goin off the idle of my bros. '01 Z06. I can't imagine .9L difference causing it to be choppy.

Also, if you're concerned, sell it to Billy (budhayes3). He might want it since he's bound to change cams again.

Nah, it won't be choppy, there isn't a lot of overlap on that cam, and I'm sure that Wheatley's tuned LS6 cams in 4.8's a plenty He probably won't even need to set the idle up much over what it is stock, probably 650 rpm at most if I were to guess.

the cam should help me out a bit power wise and so should the 93 tune and the e fans.

what do you think an estimated hp gain would be with a 93 tune, e fans abd the ls6 cam?

They say they make 30-40 flywheel hp in a 5.3L. I was told 20rwhp.

Im currently doing the same swap into a 5.3L for my truck.
