I would never swap a stock cam for a stock cam.

What is a stage 3 cam?

If it does bump the power any, it won't be much. Someone is always selling a used smaller cam, that will work better. All that trouble I'd at least want a noticeable improvement.

do you want a low end tq cam or top end screamer? If you want to stick with the stock drive train and are on a budget go with comp low lift 212/218 and ls6 springs. depending on the mileage you might want new lifters, timing chain, gaskets....

If you want to put a lot of money in the truck and make it a drag truck go as large as you want. The larger the cam the more you are going to shift the power band up and lose lower rpm power

and dont put that ls3 cam in you will kill bottom end and gain a small amount up a stock 4.8 cam is wayyyyy better than ls3 cam for a 4.8/5.3 motor
