i just swaped over ls2 heads and cam into my 99 sierra with a 5.3. started it and ran it around the block changed the oil and when i went to drive it again it set a cam sensor code. is there something i missed?

has anyone come across this any help would be greatly appreciated.

by the way, it runs like a raped ape. even with the light. i think though with the code, its not adjusting the timing when needed for even aditional power!!!!

ls2 cam doesn't have the reluctor ring on the rear of the cam. you will have to use an ls2 cam gear and front cover with the sensor in it.

You will need the extension harness from kateck as well.

will my 5.3 water pump still work? all i need is the front cover and the extension? can i just extend the harness?

yes the water pump will still work. it will probably be cheaper to get a z06 cam to replace it with. very similar specs and can be had for around 150 bucks. unless you have access to free ls2 parts.

i got the heads and cam for free and i can get the cover for pretty cheap cuz i work for the dealer
