Default LS2 cam in a 4.8l

I picked up an ls2 cam and springs for free, and now I see that it doesn't have the reluctor wheel for the cam sensor, im guessing from what Ive read I need to change the front cover? if so ill just spend the money for a cam and go aftermarket

Just go after market. The LS2 can will be good for 10-15hp vs a 212/218 can that will add 50 or 60hp.

ls2 cam is the same basically a the 01 ls6 cam so its worth a few ponies

yes you can run the LS2 timing cover and the 05 LS2 timing set on the 48 without any issues
