Default LQ4 turbo build

Hello I’m looking to build up a lq4 to replace my 4.8 in my rcsb. The plan for the 6.0 is replace all the bearings on the crank and use the stock crank then upgrade the rods and pistons. Want to put a BTR stage 2 turbo cam with ls7 lifters and ls9 head gaskets. Then upgrade all hardware to studs. Only thing I’m not to sure about is what to do with valve springs, rockers and heads. Would like to use stick heads and just upgrade what I can. Can I use factory rockers? Also what is a good replacement for throttle body as my truck is a drive by wire.

That's a lot of questions lol.

Heads:
Stock is fine, maybe clean up in the bowl if you want
Stock valves are fine provided the margin is enough to get a valve job done
I like PAC 1219 springs, personally
Stock rockers with trunion upgrade

Lifters:
Johnston 4110s are nice, just saying

Rods:
Gen4

Pistons:
Gen4 compatible, make sure you get your CR where you want it. I'd personally do a .03 over

Cam:
get the bearings replaced

Crank:
cut it .01

Studs:
dont stud the mains without planning to have them linebored

ARP head bolts will get you to 700hp no problem. Ebay head studs have proven their own too. I'd buy ARP bolts before I bought ebay studs, but I have a chip on my shoulder to use brand name stuff

Oil pump:
lots of opinions out there. I use the Melling pump with the yellow spring. Properly shimmed on install. Get your self a set of feeler gauges, you'll need em

thats all I can think to say man, good luck!

Thank you very much. That helped a bunch. I’m trying to do a budget rebuild but get some reliability outta the motor. Looking to get 600whp and just beat on the thing and drive it almost every day.

Also what about intake and throttle body? How well would the factory ones work?

and lifters do you mean 2110's?

Yes I do, I'm sorry. I used the 2110R in my 408.

stock intake and TB will get you to 600 without problems. Look into a speed density operating system or a gen4 MAF upgrade so you can read the air required for 600hp. Gen3 mafs are done about 4-450hp

Speed density all the way if this is a 99-07 classic era truck.

As said stock throttle body and intake will make stupid power.

What year engine did you get? You may get lucky if it's 2004+ because those have better rods from the factory in most cases.

The engine is from a 2001. I wasn’t really picky getting it as it was free lol. Still runs good but the body around the engine was toast.
