you will be able to get all the horsepower you want out of that lq4. what determines max hp is how good is the tune and how hard you push it. gonna break the tranny before you break that motor. have fun with it

Stock an LQ4 is 300-325HP 9.4:1 compression
The LQ9 is 345HP 10.1:1 compression
Same heads and cam in both engines
Wish I could find a local engine builder to rebuild my LQ4 to LQ9 specs, add some long tube headers, & remap/dyno tune the computer !

i have the sts kit with a stock 4.8 and it does ok... but i would love to swap a lq4 in and upgrade my turbo. you will definately be able to make some good rwhp with that motor and a t70 like you mention in you sig. and also like mentioned up top, your tranny will go first for sure if you dont upgrade. if possible get a 4l80 and a good rearend and you will be very happy. id say you should be able to put 450 to 500 to the ground no prob if u get upgraded fuel system, good tune, (preferable dyno tune), and work on your drive train... its definately a project but if you do it right, you will love it. GOOD LUCK and have fun. post it up when you get it done
