Where'd ya get those specs? Stock from GM catalog, correct?
Interesting seeing what flows where on different heads? Some surprises.

Also, 317 & 706 are different in terms of CC's. Denali on 26's take a look at the very info u posted.

Another thing, if concerned on MPG's & you're thinkin heads, & a cam, do a cam swap & you'll see how much you'll lose there. I know I lost a bit.
But I gained in a different way.

I remember that thread. FastBrick knows his ****. I think a Mod was supposed to do a casting sticky.

Yes, I wasn't implying to look at look @ .600 lift. Or only that. I could be wrong, but (Billy) don't u wanna have good flow #'s at the lift your cam is at? The 243's & 317's have better flow #'s, along w/. those bigger I&E valves, while the 706's have the smallest chamber of all. I noticed the 243's are nestled almost in the middle of the two in terms of chamber size.

O'yea...

also i have somewhere between 3-7 sets of 706 heads on core motors i have swapped out for people... is the reason why i am leaning towards the 706's

what would my compression be with stock gaskets and the 706's with 58cc chambers?

You're chasing a white zebra with those 24" wheels and MPG.

I know when I went from factory 255/70/16 to 285/60/18 I was shocked at how much power it sapped. I can only imagine going from 16s to 24s.

only chasing "better" MPG

and i can't afford to be a fast 4door BUT i can afford to be a semi quick 4door on 24's...

18's made that big of a diff. for you? That kinda ironic, 18's or maybe 20's are what I may go to for brake clearance ( alot of brake). It's the only reason I want 20's cause I'm not into bling.

There's a better chance I'll go w/. 20's than see a white zebra. Never heard that one...white zebra.
