I am putting a 220/226 112 LSA with some Dart 225s and a TBSS intake in my HD. I hope to see 450-500 flywheel hp hard to say wheel because it will have to go through the 4L80E and the 14 bolt so if it does 500 flywheel I am thinking low 400 at the wheel. I am also looking at getting a Nitro Dave's plate kit to see what it will do with that setup and a little spray on top. Maybe 500 wheel and 600 tq who knows

best of luck to you skyhi. i am tryin to get the most i can out of my setup and do it all motor.

due to money at the monment im gonna get the 243s and install the lq9 pistons and leave the tr220 cam. maybe the end of the year or next year i can get the custom ground cam for my setup and have the heads worked at that time to optimize the cam and probably while im in there change out the lifters.

i dont think you'll see 400whp with a relatively small cam and the HD powertrain.

hirdlej has the right idea here. I second this.

One should always shoot for the most power under the curve. Peak numbers belong on magazine covers used for bathroom reading only.

just say on a dyno sheet from 3k to 6k you want a curve through out your power band as it peaks. not a straight line peak from 3k to 6k from

For example, would you rather have a donkey dick cam with a power curve like this??

Or super usable power like this?

you dont have to change out much.
your already at 380hp, pick up the 243 heads, clean them up and do a little porting and polishing, have them shaved about 0.40.
this alone should pick you up to around 415 to 425hp, get a set of cut outs and install them right off of the LT headders so you can open it up and really let it breath, that should give you another 12 to 17hp.
then fine tune it to get the most out of it with out doing it any harm.

I was told to expect a 30-35 rwhp gain with my stage 1 ls6 heads on the LQ9. And the 228r cam picks up roughly 75 fwhp. If you want to get 450rwhp you're going to need a precise setup. The big thing is your got the T56 not robbing a lot of power. Look at it this way, people have achieved 500rwhp on a 346, so I believe 450 is certainly attainable with a good torque curve. The key is heads, heads, heads. That's where the power is, not a huge cam. The AFR 205cc heads are a very popular head because they have stock sized runners but flow 70cfm's more than stock....this means increased air velocity and incredible throttle response and low end torque. Hefty price tag though....
