L94 build advice
hey guys i just picked up a L94 i was told its out of an 07 denali but need to verify that
id like to build this to make 500+ Hp but be reliable and have good street manners for a daily i'm not sure if this is going to find its way in my 01 zo6 or a early 2000's short bed 2wd pickup?
i really dont know any thing about the VVT should i keep that or delete it?
it needs to be bored how much is ok .030? .060? or?
my son mentioned 416 whats needed to be done to make it one?
is this the ls3 block?
any help here would be great!

Should technically be an l92, block is same as the ls3! as far as i know, they make .005,.010, .015, and .020 over pistons.... For standard overbore and stroke, but as far as i know to swap a 4" stroke crank with a 4.080 bored should put you close to the 408 or 416 mark.... Which heads does it have on it.... The 5364 casting are supposedly a slightky better cast, something about sand the used in the mold or something, giving them smoother finish on the walls of the runners, and arent supposed to have a lump in the intake runner..

Yeah - a hone to 4.070" on the bore and a 4.000" crank will put you right at 416ci and are pretty stout base for your 500hp goals. Are you wanting to make 500hp to the wheels or to the crank?
There are several companies that make a stroker kit that contains rods, pistons, crank, etc. all balanced and matched. All you would need to do is hone / or have someone hone your cylinders to 4.070" grab a set of rod and main bearings and you're set.
Heads can make 500hp but you'd be better off sending them out for some decent CNC port work. That and a cam to match and you'll be barking all over 500hp reliably.

Yeah VVT is the best of both worlds bottom and top end. Not sure if you'd need a custom harness to run to the PCM but I would bet you money you would need to.
A 416 through a 4l80e with VVT would be pretty trick. But 500rwhp is only a few blank checks away - it's gonna come down to how much you want to spend.

If you could modify an e38 pcm to run as a stand alone, it would control the vvt... Camaro are getting 500+ at the wheels na why cant we in a truck?? Ive kinda wanted to get 500rwhp in a truck and then put a blower on it!!! just not sure its feasible in my lifted truck.... Thinking it would have to be a rcsb or yukon or something!!

if this does make its way into a truck its going to get a LSA blower or turbo my cars running low 11's n/a have not ran it with my 150 shot yet but pretty sure its in the mid 10's like to have the truck pretty close to what it runs, if it go's in my z06 like to be 500+ wheel hp n/a and a 200 shot
