keeping the valves up?

what method did you guys use when you were swapping your springs to keep your valves up? im only aware of the top dead center method...is there another way...if so, how?

you can use an air compressor, get an adaptor for the spark plug hole and remember it only holds up 2 valves on that cylender intake and exhaust. keep your regulator at 80psi so it wont drop below that as it may bleed down. good luck.

where can i get the compression test/leakdown kit from...and all i have to do is stick it in the spark plug hole, turn the compressor on and it will hold the valves up?..seems to easy..lol

Believe it or knot (haha), you can use 1/4" nylon rope if you dont have an air compressor like me. Here's how.
As the piston is just starting the compression stroke, insert the rope into the cylinder thru the plug hole. Anywhere from 4 to 8 feet of rope should do it. Leave enough rope outside to pull out later. Continue to turn the motor by hand until you feel some resistence. STOP! That's the piston stopping (compressing) on the rope. R+R the valve spring, back off the compression stroke and pull out the rope.
